How to Raise or Lower Lawn Phosphorus Levels

Doc explains how to raise your lawn phosphorus levels and how to deal with high phosphorus.  If your soil is low on phosphorus your lawn will struggle to be healthy.  To raise the phosphorus we should use a fast release fertilizer that is higher in phosphorus.  Doc shows his soil tests and then applies the right fertilizer to raise it.  This will take time and a few treatments will be needed.

First home that I have grass. Moved to York PA and the grass is what they told me as construction grass. Would I be able to grow Bermuda here? Is the chemicals pet friendly as well we just got a dog and I don’t want my wife to kill me if the doggie gets sick. Ha Ha Ha. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Love all your videos by the way. Want the best lawn out there.

Hello, I live in Northwest Arkansas and my lawn has more rocks than grass. I’ve just watched a couple of videos on “How To Fix An Ugly Lawn” and “How To Lower or Raise Lawn Phosphorus”: just like I said previous, I live in Northwest Arkansas in an area where rocks grow faster than grass.

Since I’ve lived here and dug down into the ground, we’ve discovered clay. How do I turn that around to grass?

I just got my soil test results and my lawn is a little high in phosphorus and higher in magnesium, my PH is 5.8 considered sufficient. I have just ordered 2 bags 16-0-8 to lower according to Doc.Extension recommended 15-0-15 per 1k 7lbs in the spring once and 3lbs 34-0-0 in mid June and early August. I will continue with Doc’s advice 15-0-15 is not even in stock at any of the big box store. Doc is a pro I will go with him.
