How to Level Bumpy Lawn

How to level a bumpy lawn with sand or leveling mix.  Doc answers all the questions about leveling your lawn including what leveling mix to use, when to level, and more.  Remember if you’re cutting your lawn with a rotary mower and you’re trying to cut low, any bump or rut in the lawn will cause scalp marks.  Most wanting to cut their Bermuda grass low will use a reel mower. If you need to fill in DEEP ruts then watch the leveling lawn video from last year.  On average it can take 1-1.5 yards of sand or leveling mix to put down 1/2 of top dressing to your lawn.

Hello Doc! I finally decided to do something about my ratty looking yard. I’ve applied weed killer to the lawn and now I’m wondering if I should go ahead and apply a pre emergent. I watched your video about repairing an old lawn and noticed that you used a pre emergent. Everywhere I read says to apply it in early spring, but my yard is already green and covered with weeds. Should I apply pre em anyway to help prevent any new weeds from germinating? Thanks for any advice. Love your videos.
