Dealing with Late Frost on Lawns and Gardens

Doc goes over dealing with a late frost and how it impacts lawn and garden care.  He tests the lawn soil PH and treats the putting green.  Frost damage is shown on the garden and plants.  Light frost usually doesn’t cause major damage, with exception to very tender plants, but hard frost freezes water in plant cells causing dehydration and damage to cell walls. Injury is more likely to occur as the sun comes up. As a result of these damaged cell walls, the plant defrosts too quickly, killing leaves and stems.

Thank You for all your videos. I don’t have Bermuda (thought I did when we moved in, lol) I have centipede which I have kept because of the drought and heat of central Florida. Your videos and calendar have helped me learn how to take care of my yard in retirement. I really enjoy all of it.

Hey Doc! I live in Birmingham, AL. I put down Humichar & PGF complete twice now with the most recent application yesterday adding the chicken feed. I followed it by spraying the super juice mixture (adding a cap of liquid iron and surfactant) with each application, but in my mixture I’ve added the whole pack of the little booster (recharge) pack instead of 1/4 pack. I must’ve misunderstood a video I watched a while back, but with me adding the whole pack instead of just a 1/4 hurt my lawn, or will I be ok?
