How to Increase Water Pressure in a Garden Hose

If you have low water pressure or low water volume in your garden hoses there are a few things that might help. Most homes have a Pressure Regulator that can be adjusted, but you need to understand a few things first.

Residential water pressure tends to range between 45 and 80 psi. Anything below 40 psi is considered low and anything below 30 psi is considered too low. Water pressures above 80 psi are too high.

Low water pressure is more of a nuisance than a serious problem (some fixtures, like washing machines, have minimum pressure requirements), high water can have significantly increased risk of damage to pipes, joints, fixtures and seals – not to mention increased water waste.
