How and When to Aerate Your Lawn

Aerating your lawn will greatly improve your lawn’s health.  Most lawns will use core aeration and plugs will be pulled out of the lawn.  These plugs should be picked up and can be used as mulch or to fill in bare spots in the lawn.  In this video Doc does spike aeration of the putting green.

Doc, as someone who burns through a tube of grease a day, may I recommend you look into a lock-n-lube for your grease gun. Very well worth it.
Second, do you suggest after core aeration to top dress, filling in the holes this early in the growing season?
